A community-driven collective for scholars in the social sciences and humanities, creating an inclusive space for collaboration, support, and intellectual growth.
Building bridges in academia through peer support and collaborative learning
The Northeast Scholars Network (NSN) is a community-driven collective for scholars in the social sciences and humanities, hailing from Northeast India and across the country. It was born from the understanding that the academic journey, while rewarding, can also be isolating.
This is not a top-down mentorship program but a circle of peers. The group comprises individuals who have faced, and are still facing, academic challenges and are committed to supporting others on the same path.
Our mission is to create an inclusive space where we can all come together to share our work, exchange ideas, and find support at every stage of our academic journey.
Guided by a spirit of shared learning and reciprocity

Share guidance and resources for the research lifecycle, from developing research proposals to navigating publications, particularly for early-career researchers.
Provide a platform to present research focused on Northeast India and create opportunities to engage in public scholarship and policy-relevant discussions.

Peer-led sessions where we collectively deconstruct research proposals, thesis chapters, or manuscripts to understand what makes them effective.
A safe and constructive space to present ongoing research and receive thoughtful feedback from a multidisciplinary group.
Informal, moderated discussions on specific research themes, methodologies, or challenges designed to spark curiosity and dialogue.
Members share practical skills they have learned, such as using Generative AI, navigating academic databases, or preparing presentations.
